The Sirius Echo Repeater System transmitter converts the Satellite radio signal it receives from a home antenna to a 900 MHz signal capable of penetrating throughout the surrounding environment. The repeater antenna will then pick up the 900 MHz signal and converts it back to the satellite radio signal. In essence, it serves as a wireless extension cable.
